Marabou weed, also known as the sicklebush, is a highly aggressive invasive tree species in Cuba. Thanks to the Cuban tropical climate and optimal soil conditions the Marabú turned into an invasive plant that can grow up to 8-10 meters tall and is covered in thorns. The need to extirpate it made possible to produce charcoal by burning it. For this reason it is almost ecological charcoal. The Marabù is a noble charcoal which guarantees a constant high calorific power for a period of time of sustained combustion. It is characterized by a low residual ash after being consumed during the high density combustion. Marabú is also a charcoal that does not sparkle, it is not explodes and it burns with a smokeless flame. For this reason is very suitable for BBQ, open grills, parillas, etc…
